Senior Financial Analyst, Corporate

Department: Corporate Finance

Location: Work from home – Temporarily due to COVID-19; Service Center, 4204, boul. Industrial, Laval (Quebec) H7L 0E3);

Type: Permanent, Full-time

THE ROLE 

As part of Alimentation Couche-Tard's head office team, the financial information and internal control group plays a key role in the company. The main responsibilities of the financial analyst, within this group, are the following:

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

Here are just a few ways that you’ll help make journeys better:  

  • Preparation of periodic, quarterly and annual financial information for internal purposes for sharing with senior management and for external purposes to meet the regulatory requirements of a public company:

    • Review of documents provided by the business units;

    • Consolidation of financial information;

    • Participate in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements, management's discussion and analysis and quarterly and annual press release;

    • Participation in the preparation of results analyses and presentations for management and the various committees;

    • Review of certain documents prepared by financial analysts.

  • Other responsibilities:

    • Development and implementation of corporate accounting policies;

    • Research and analysis of complex accounting issues;

    • Support to business units and management;

    • Active participation in various special projects:

      • IFRS conversions of acquired companies;

      • Alignment of accounting policies of acquired companies;

      • Purchase price allocation of acquired companies;

      • Implementation of internal controls of acquired companies;

      • Verification of the application of internal controls by the business units;

      • Participation in the preparation of financing documents;

      • Participation in benchmarking projects within the company.

  • Support the reporting team

    • Support managers in the coordination, management and allocation of responsibilities;

    • Support to managers in training and resource development.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED 

We want you to join our team! Here’s what we’re looking for: 

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting option OR equivalent experience;

  • Possess a CPA designation.

Experience:

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience;

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent command of the Office suite;

  • Knowledge of IFRS accounting standards;

  • Experience with complex accounting issues;

  • Experience in internal control;

  • Quality of work, autonomy and initiative;

  • Ability to manage priorities while respecting deadlines;

  • Ability to work in a team and to communicate;

  • Be available to travel occasionally (5-6 weeks per year).

Language skills:

  • Bilingual (French and English).
